My Next Step — I Said YES to Jesus
7 Day Challenge

MY
NEXT
STEP

You said YES to Jesus. Here's what comes next — one simple step at a time.

⭐ I Said YES to Jesus

Hey, Welcome
to the Family.

Saying YES to Jesus is the most important decision you'll ever make. And we don't want you to take this next step alone. This little guide is for YOU — it's simple, it's honest, and it'll help you take your first steps in your new life with God.

You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to show up, one day at a time.

"Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

How This Works

Each day has three simple things to do. None of them are hard. All of them matter.
01

📖 Read

We'll read the book of John together — a little each day. John wrote it so you could know Jesus personally. No experience needed.

02

🙏 Pray

Prayer is just talking to God. We'll give you a simple prayer to start with. God's not looking for perfect words — just an honest heart.

03

✍️ Write

There's space at the end of each day to write down one thing God said to you. Even a word or sentence counts.

04

📣 Share

Faith grows when it's shared. You'll be encouraged to tell someone — a friend, family member, or leader — what's happening.

7 Days.
One Step
at a Time.

Every day for the next 7 days, you're going to do three things: Read, Pray, and Write. That's it. Let's go.

1
Day One
Ask God to Speak to You
📖 Read: John 1:1–18  ·  "In the beginning was the Word…"
🙏 Pray this first

Before you read anything, pray this simple prayer: "God, I want to know You. Speak to me today and give me ears to hear Your voice." That's it. Then open your Bible.

📖 Read slowly

Read John 1:1–18. Don't rush. If something jumps out at you — a word, a sentence, a feeling — slow down and sit with it. That might be God speaking.

📣 Tell someone

Text or tell ONE person that you said yes to Jesus. It could be a friend, a parent, a leader — anyone. You don't have to have a speech. Just say: "Hey, I gave my life to Jesus and I wanted to tell you."

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 1:14
2
Day Two
You Are Loved — For Real
📖 Read: John 3:1–21  ·  "For God so loved the world…"
🙏 Pray this first

"God, help me feel how much You actually love me. I want to know it — not just hear it, but feel it. Speak to me as I read."

📖 Read & look for the love

John 3:16 is probably the most famous verse in the Bible. But read the whole story — there's a man named Nicodemus who came to Jesus with questions in the middle of the night. Jesus didn't push him away. He never does.

📣 Share with your family

Today, tell someone in your family — a parent, a sibling, a grandparent — that you made a decision to follow Jesus. It might feel weird. Do it anyway.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
3
Day Three
Jesus Sees You
📖 Read: John 4:1–30  ·  The woman at the well
🙏 Pray this first

"God, You know everything about me. And You still chose me. Help me understand what that means. Speak to me today."

This is one of the most powerful stories in the Bible. A woman who felt like an outsider met Jesus one day — and He already knew everything about her. He didn't shame her. He offered her something better. That's still how He works.

📣 Check in with your leader

Shoot a text or DM to a leader or youth pastor. Just say: "I'm on Day 3 of the challenge." Let them celebrate with you.

"Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?"
John 4:29
4
Day Four
Jesus Is the Real Deal
📖 Read: John 6:1–21, 35  ·  Feeding 5,000 people
🙏 Pray this first

"God, I want to trust You more. Show me that You are who You say You are. Open my eyes as I read today."

📖 Read the miracle

Jesus feeds 5,000 people with a kid's lunch. Then He walks on water. These aren't just cool stories — they're showing us who Jesus really is. He has power over everything. Including whatever feels impossible in your life right now.

📣 Tell a friend something from this week

By now you've read some amazing things. Tell a friend ONE thing that's surprised you or stood out to you about Jesus this week.

"Then Jesus declared, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.'"
John 6:35
5
Day Five
You Are Not Alone
📖 Read: John 14:1–27  ·  Jesus promises a Helper
🙏 Pray this first

"God, thank You that I'm not doing this alone. Holy Spirit, come close. I need You. Speak to me as I read today."

📖 Read Jesus' promise

Jesus told His friends He was leaving — but He didn't leave them empty-handed. He promised to send the Holy Spirit, who would live inside of them and never leave. That same Spirit now lives in YOU. You are never alone again.

📣 Invite someone to church

Is there a friend who doesn't know Jesus yet? Today, invite them to come to youth group or church with you. You don't have to explain everything — just say "come with me."

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
John 14:27
6
Day Six
He Did It For You
📖 Read: John 19:16–30  ·  The Cross
🙏 Pray this first

"God, I want to really understand what Jesus did for me. Today, help it hit different. Help me receive it."

📖 Read slowly — this one matters

This is the part of the story where Jesus goes to the cross. It's hard to read. It's supposed to be. He chose this — for you, specifically. Let that sink in. You are worth dying for to Jesus.

📣 Write a thank you to God

In the space below, write a short prayer or note to God — just from your heart. Tell Him what today meant to you. He's listening.

"When he had received the drink, Jesus said, 'It is finished.' With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit."
John 19:30
7
Day Seven
He's Alive. So Are You.
📖 Read: John 20:1–18  ·  The Resurrection
🙏 Pray this first

"God, You raised Jesus from the dead — and You're doing something new in me too. Thank You. Show me what comes next."

📖 Read the best part

Three days after the cross, Jesus walked out of the grave. Everything changed. Death didn't win. That same power is now alive in you — the same God who raised Jesus from the dead is the God you just said YES to.

📣 Tell your leader you finished

You did it — 7 days. Text your leader or youth pastor right now. Tell them you finished the challenge. This is worth celebrating.

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.'"
John 11:25

What God
Says About You

Not what the world says. Not what your worst day says. Here's what God — your actual Creator — says about you.
01
You are loved — unconditionally.
"Nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38–39
02
You are chosen and set apart.
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession."
1 Peter 2:9
03
You are forgiven and made new.
"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
2 Corinthians 5:17
04
You have a purpose.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11
05
You are never alone.
"I will never leave you nor forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5

Start Here
Every Day

Prayer doesn't have to be complicated. If you don't know what to say, start with this. Say it out loud. Mean it.
"God, I want to know You. Speak to me today and give me ears to hear Your voice. I'm showing up — help me to listen. Amen."
📝 Tip: Write down whatever comes to mind after you pray. Even a single word or a feeling. God speaks in lots of different ways — through the Bible, through a thought, through peace, through a person. The more you practice listening, the more you'll hear.

This Is Just
The Beginning.

The 7 days are done — but the journey is just getting started. Keep reading. Keep praying. Keep sharing. And don't do it alone. Your leaders are here for you.

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion."

Philippians 1:6
